This site acknowledges the Bundjalung Nation of Byron Bay – Arakwal Bumberlin people, who are the recognised Aboriginal Traditional Custodians of the Byron Bay district. The local Arakwal people’s name for the area is Cavvanbah, meaning “meeting place”.
